On RND 1 of the rest of the sock, you begin with wrong side facing you, that means you will be working with the inside of the sock towards you. Space 9 sc evenly along edge of the heel rows, 1 sc in next 14 sc, place 9 sc evenly along edge of the next side of the heel rows, ss to join, ch 1, turn. Then continue on with the rest of the pattern.
