Make your own cleaning cloths for your wet jet. I got this idea after watching this video https://youtu.be/_rPv8ZPfLJU on how to refill your Swiffer wet jet cleaning fluid bottle. She also showed how to save on the cleaning pads. She ties an old dish rag or old towel around the bottom. So I thought why not crochet a cloth to fit snuggly on it. These can be easily removed and you can wash them in your washing machine.
MATERIALS Yarn: Mary Maxim Scub-It 100% Cotton Medium worsted weight. This yarn can be purchased online at http://www.marymaxim.ca or http://www.marymaxim.com. Hook: 5.5 mm (I-9)
Gauge: 7 dc = 2 inches 2 rows of dc = 1 inch
Abbreviations used:
ch - chain sc - single crochet
st - stitch dc - double crochet
Ch 15
Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 13 chs, ch 2 and turn. (14 sc)
Row 2: (The ch 2 counts as first dc) 1 dc in next 13 sts, ch 4, turn. (14 dc)
Row 3: (The ch 4 counts as 1st dc and ch 2, to make opening for the jet spray) Skip next 2 sts, 1 dc in next 10 dc, 1 dc in top of ch 2 turning ch, ch 2 and turn. (14 sts)
Row 4: (The ch 2 counts as first dc) 1 dc in next 10 dc, 1 dc in each of the 2 chs, (Or you could just make your 2 dcs in the chain loop if you find it too difficult to get your hook through the loops of the chains) 1 dc in top of ch 2 turning ch, ch 2 and turn. (14 dc)
Rows 5 to 25: (The ch 2 counts as first dc) 1 dc in next 12 sts, 1 dc in top of ch 2 turning ch, ch 2, turn. (14 dc)

You do not have to go across the ends as those rows are already done in sc (Rows 1 and 29 are the sc rows) Stitch count doesn't really count but try to do it evenly. Just try to get the same amount of stitches on each side. I put 54 sc along each side. See photo below where I am crocheting down one edge of the cloth. Then I crocheted down the other edge.
To form the pockets to slip on over wet jet ends, fold cloth after Row 5 to overlap to Row 10.
Fold other end back 5 rows (after Row 25 to overlap to Row 20) Slip stitch or sew along each edge on both ends.
See photo below where I have folded the first end to overlap. Then I did the same to the other end.
The holes left on Rows 3 and 27 for the jet sprayers should be positioned over them as in the photos of the finished cloths at the top of the page.
