MATERIALS: Yarn: 4 ply worsted weight yarn. I'm not sure how much I used as I had used balls of this yarn that I had rolled up and was left over from another project. I would purchase at least two 170 g balls just to be sure.
Hook: 5 mm
Gauge: 3 blocks = 2 inches 3 rows of blocks = 2 inches
Size: I'm not sure what size you would call it. I usually buy tops in women's small size. Bust is 38 inches, around the rib cage where you put the tie is 33 inches. The vest is approximately 25 inches from neck to bottom on the back.
To increase or decrease the size, go by your gauge. To add another block, add 3 more chains to your starting chain. To reduce by a block, subtract 3 chains on your starting chain. Place any extra blocks evenly over the fronts and back. For example, if you add 3 more blocks, place one on each front and one on the back. The decreases for the gathered front can remain the same as this pattern.
